Fear versus Hope

Fear shows us scenes of violence, tragedies, reports on instability around the world. Every day we witnesses heartaches. Yes, the future seems uncertain and bleak.
But this is not what the bible says. God assures us in Jeremiah 29:11, "…I know the plans I have for you…to give you hope and a  future…."
John 16:13, also, says the Holy Spirit will reveal to us the things to come. Our future is not a mystery hidden from us.
Also, Our future is not determined by random luck; but by the seeds we saw. God gave us seedtime and harvest to eliminate fear, and shape our future. (Genesis 8:22)
I am determined to plant good seeds today for my tomorrow.

He Gives Power to the Weak

Fear affects many of our decisions. We often think we are powerless, saying, "I can't do that. I don't think I am capable of doing it. I am just an ordinary woman." But look what the bible says in Isaiah 40:
"He (God) gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."
The key point is to trust God.

Don't Get Worked Up!

They say there are 365 times God encourages us to "fear not," "worry not" or "be anxious for nothing" in the bible--one for each day of the year.
In Mathew 6: 25-33(MSG) we read, "Don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.
“Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? All this time and money wasted on fashion—do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop, but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes."

Fear not!

Everywhere we go, fear seems to stare at us, scream at us, throw explosives at us, whisper in our ears horrible things, threaten to overwhelm and paralyze us. Here's what the Lord says in his Word in Philippians 4:5-6:
       "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
        So fear not!

F.E.A.R. not!

F.E.A.R  (False Evidence Appearing Real) shows its ugly face in every situation we face. Instead, God wants us to face every problem and overcome it by faith in his promises. And that’s what he has promised:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
(Isaiah 43:1-2)

FEAR not!

What is fear? The acronym of F.E.A.R. can be interpreted as False Evidence Appearing Real. It only appears real. Look what God says in Isaiah 41:10:
"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

The God of Hope

My name, Nadia, comes from Nadejda, which means HOPE in Bulgarian language. When I read the verse that follows, I thought, "They are talking about My God here, the God of Nadia (Hope)."
Romans 15:13 says, "May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace, through believing—that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
I  Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to give hope. It's a free gift. No matter what the present situation I am in looks like, the bible assures me of the master plan God has for me.
Today, I will overflow with hope that God's promises will come to pass in my life. Today, I'll chose to believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to fill me with joy and peace.
